- Description
A threshold covenant is associated with the door of a house. When crossing the threshold of a house, the owner is expected to provide the guest with the best of hospitality because it is an implied covenant. The Egyptian Passover was a threshold covenant. Eating the Passover lamb was a threshold covenant meal. The guardian of the door (threshold) is called a watchman or porter. Yeshua is the door to our house (our heart and lives). When we willfully sin, we show disrespect for the shed blood of Yeshua by stepping upon His threshold door. The concept of a threshold door was extended to the boundary of an area (city) and seen as the place of authority for the deity of that region. For this reason, temples were built to the city god. The gates of a city were seen as crossing the threshold into the area of the deity of that region and therefore the city god was to be respected and worshiped. Learn all these things and much more in this insightful and powerful teaching on the threshold covenant.
